Texture: I plain on integrating a frosted and acid-etched type of surface on the keys. the soft and sanded-down edges provide a comforting feel I plan on replicating. The

Whimsy: I would like to personalise my laptop keyboard. Although the keycaps do look very cool, the thickness of the chassis and overall laptop restricts any protruding designs. I could instead laser-etch or hardcore a design onto a keycap to keep a custom vibe.

Proof of Concept: This design by Tanko Design, showcases a similar function of my keyboard, where there is a display underneath projecting the alphanumerical symbol to each keycaps position. The design differs from my vision as there are no keycaps but rather potentially functioning via pressure sensors or capacitive touch, I do not plan on doing this as I value the sound and feel produced when typing on a keycap based keyboard.

LED and colour gradients are pivotal in this project

Feel: Instead of extending towards the user, these keyboards have depressions and cavities that would fit the fingers. This is ergonomic design
